Over a year ago, I had two MacBooks repaired by eFix Ltd., including a 2015 MacBook Pro that underwent LCD cable, logic board, and charging port repairs. At the time, I was specifically advised to use a genuine Apple charger, which I purchased. After receiving the repaired MacBook, it functioned briefly (less than a week) on the remaining battery percentage while I waited for the new charger. However, once I started using the genuine Apple charger, the MacBook stopped charging and wouldn’t turn on.
Since I already had an M1 MacBook as my primary device, I didn’t prioritize following up or investigating further. Recently, I took the MacBook to a local authorized Apple repair center, where I was informed the motherboard needed replacement—something I feel should have been identified during the initial repair.
I can’t fault eFix Ltd. for their communication, as the team was friendly, and their service turnaround was fair. I’m confident they would have addressed the issue if I had followed up immediately. That said, I was disappointed that the MacBook wasn’t fully functional after the repair and only became usable a year later after additional work at another repair center.
